NATIONAL CAREERS WEEK : 2ND - 6TH MARCH 2026

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius

This week, our school proudly celebrated National Careers Week 2026, an exciting opportunity for our children to think about their futures, explore different career paths and see how their learning connects to real-life jobs. As a Catholic school community, we aim to encourage children to aim high, develop transferable skills and understand that their education today shapes their future.

Throughout the week, each class engaged in meaningful activities and discussions designed to spark curiosity and ambition. Children considered the wide variety of careers available to them and reflected on the skills needed to succeed.

Highlights of the week included:

  • Exploring how subjects they are currently studying, including computing, science, geography, design & technology and maths relate directly to future careers.

  • Discussing how skills taught in school, such as problem-solving, research, communication, budgeting and data handling etc are essential in many professions.

  • Watching short videos from BBC Bitesize Careers, including quizzes to help children discover careers that match their interests and talents BBC Bitesize Careers.

  • Researching a career of interest and identifying the subjects and skills needed to succeed.

  • Using resources from the National Careers Week website, including videos and classroom activities, to inspire discussion and reflection National Careers Week.

It was inspiring to see children from all year groups actively engaging, asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine curiosity about the world of work. The week highlighted that every subject we teach builds transferable skills and that the possibilities for future careers are vast and varied.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms Kaur who organised and supported the activities, ensuring that National Careers Week was both enjoyable and inspiring. Events like this help children understand that learning today shapes the leaders, innovators, and professionals of tomorrow and we are proud to guide them on that journey.
