Welcome from Headteacher

Welcome to the website of St. Sebastian’s Catholic Primary School & Nursery.

I am delighted to welcome you to our school community, not only as Headteacher, but also as a former pupil of St. Sebastian’s. It is a true honour to serve a school that has shaped me and I am privileged to help nurture the next generation of learners in the same welcoming and caring environment that I experienced.

Our school mission places Gospel values at the heart of all we do:

“Our school aims to be a community which reflects real Gospel values of love and forgiveness; a community in which each individual, child or adult, can work and develop in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, broadening their appreciation of the world, its cultures, and its people. Study – Sanctity – Service.”

Our school motto, “Only My Best Will Do: Be Kind To One Another: Amen,” reflects our ethos in every aspect of school life.

At St. Sebastian’s, we are proud to be an inclusive school and celebrate our diverse school community, welcoming children of all backgrounds and abilities. We strive to ensure every child feels valued, respected and supported to reach their full potential. Our children learn in a warm, safe and nurturing environment, developing into well-rounded, responsible young people with a strong sense of community, justice and respect. We aim to empower our children to become respected citizens, able to make valuable contributions locally, nationally and globally, and to help build a sustainable future. Our pupils are happy, engaged and approach learning with positivity and curiosity.

Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to deliver a curriculum that inspires and excites. We ask our children to strive to be the best they can be, and we give our very best for every child, every day. With high expectations and aspirations, we ensure that each pupil achieves their full potential.

We also value the strong partnerships we have with parents, carers, governors, parishioners, staff and the local community, recognising that together we provide the best opportunities for our children.

If you would like to visit our school, please contact the office to arrange an appointment. I, or a member of our Senior Leadership Team, would be delighted to meet you and provide a tour so you can experience St. Sebastian’s first-hand.

Kind regards

Mrs J McCormick
