Access to Our Buildings

The main St Sebastian’s school building was constructed in 1980, with our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) building added in 2004.

The main school building is single-storey, with level access throughout the internal areas. Where there are changes in level between the building and outdoor areas, ramps are provided to support safe and accessible movement between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Our EYFS building is two-storey, with a lift providing access between floors for those who require it.

Accessible Facilities

Our facilities include:

• Accessible toilets – A fully accessible toilet is available within each building for use by children and adults with disabilities, mobility needs or long-term health conditions.
• Accessible parking – A designated accessible parking bay is located within the school car park, close to the main entrance, to support visitors with disabilities or mobility difficulties.
• Level internal access – The main school building provides level access throughout its internal areas.
• Ramped access – Ramps are provided at appropriate access points to support movement between the main school building and outdoor areas where there are changes in level.
• Lift access – A lift provides access between floors within our two-storey EYFS building.

Supporting Individual Accessibility Needs

We recognise that accessibility is not limited to physical access. Children, families, staff and visitors may have a range of individual needs, including physical, sensory, communication, medical or other additional needs.

Where required, we will work with individuals and families to understand any barriers they may experience and make reasonable adjustments wherever possible to support access to our buildings, curriculum, activities, information and services.
