Wednesday Word: Gospel Reflection for Families
"Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path."

The Wednesday Word is an outreach which shares Sunday's Gospel with all school families in a unique way.
Shared with parents every Wednesday via ClassDoJo, it is a weekly Gospel 'gift' from the school to the whole family. The Wednesday Word is a gift to families because of their connection with a Catholic school.
The Wednesday Word is a very special 10 minute, weekly time together, which is designed for families and school communities, to act as a gentle, regular invitation to Sunday Mass. It seeks to assist parents and carers to help their children to live well in our present-day culture; to help them grow in goodness and make safe and wise choices as they mature.
The Wednesday Word particularly seeks to reach the majority of parents and children (often more than 80% in many schools) who do not hear the Gospel read in church or read the Bible together as a family.
Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home. The Wednesday Word is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values really do help family relationships to thrive.
The Wednesday Word Family Time leaflet is designed to ensure that all family members feel included. It aims to be informative, enjoyable and to help families maintain a special closeness throughout the school years.
