Foundation 1

Welcome to Foundation 1!

We work extremely hard throughout Foundation 1 and we hope our class page gives you an overview of our exciting and engaging Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum; as well as all of the fun activities and workshops we participate in throughout the school year!

We would like to warmly welcome all of our new children and families to St Sebastian’s Foundation Stage.  The children have settled in beautifully and have already started to make many news friends! We are very impressed with how well they have adapted to their new routines

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak with a member of staff and we will be happy to help.

We hope to have an amazing year together, learning through play and growing together.

Our First Week in Foundation 1

The children in Foundation 1 have settled in fantastically well to our Foundation Stage Unit. The children have been busy meeting meeting new friends and exploring through play. Well done to all of our new children and well done to our returning children who have been wonderful 'big helpers' and helped our new friends settle in so well.

A Listening Walk

Foundation 1 went on a listening walk through the woodlands. We could hear lots of different noises , we even made some extra large ears to help us do really good listening!

Animal Extravaganza!

Foundation 1 had a wonderful day learning about lots of different animals. Thank you to Farmer David who let us take his alpaca for a walk and feed all of his farm yard animals! We also got to hold some beautiful owls, some snakes, a meerkat, a skunk and a rat! Well done to all of our children who handled the animals so carefully!

Making A Splash!

The children in Foundation 1 had so much fun in the rain. We added washing-up liquid to the puddles in our garden then jumped in them! We noticed that the puddles became bubbly! The more we jumped, the more bubbles we could see!

Halloween

We have been so busy learning about Halloween in Foundation 1 this week. We have enjoyed lots of spooky activities! We have read lots of spooky stories, made our very own potions, dressed up as skeletons and designed our own pumpkins!
