NSPCC Number Day (Feb 2019)
On 8th February 2019, St Sebastian's supported the NSPCC by taking part in their annual ‘Number Day’. This was an opportunity to raise awareness of the charity’s fantastic work and also promote positive attitudes towards Maths.
The theme was ‘Numeracy for Life’. The children were invited to dress up as what they would like to be when they grow up and we looked at how maths is used in many different jobs.
We started the day with a maths breakfast and explored lots of real life maths activities with our parents. Throughout the day, lots of parents and volunteers from our school community came in to talk about how maths is used in their job. It was such a fantastic day!
